Architectural Lobby Panels for a University Business School

The Challenge

As part of a phased interior project for Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business, the design team specified custom Quartered Anigre veneer panels for a prominent lobby installation.

The project required more than 2,000 custom panels, each manufactured to exact dimensions while maintaining a consistent appearance throughout the space. In addition to precise sizing, the installation called for side- and end-matched panels to create a seamless visual flow across the finished wall system.

With thousands of custom components and strict architectural specifications, accuracy and consistency were essential to the project’s success.

The Solution

FormWood worked closely with the project team to gather specifications, review project details, and ensure the veneer panels aligned with the architect’s design intent.

Using Quartered Anigre veneer, FormWood manufactured custom cut-to-size panels designed to meet the project’s matching requirements and installation needs. Throughout the project, careful attention was given to panel sizing, sequencing, and overall consistency to support the desired appearance of the finished space.

To accomplish this, FormWood’s project management team reviewed the architectural drawings, created a takeoff with panel numbers matching the drawings, and coordinated with the end user and production team to match physical numbered panels and veneer to dimensioned architectural drawings.

The project was completed in multiple phases, requiring ongoing coordination and a commitment to quality from start to finish.

The Outcome

The completed installation delivered the clean, sophisticated appearance envisioned for Auburn University’s business school environment.

Because the panels were manufactured to exact project dimensions, installation was streamlined while maintaining the high level of consistency required across the large-scale installation. The finished space reflects the attention to detail, craftsmanship, and architectural precision that the project demanded.

This project demonstrates FormWood’s ability to support complex higher education environments where quality, consistency, and custom manufacturing are critical to achieving the architect’s vision.
