NBL Veneer
NBL®, short for No Black Line, is a flexible wood-backed veneer designed to deliver the handling benefits many customers associate with phenolic-backed products without leaving a dark edge after trimming. Its multi-ply construction uses a wood backer with grain running parallel to the face veneer, plus an internal moisture barrier that supports flexibility, stability and clean edge appearance.
Quick Highlights

- Backer grain runs parallel to the face veneer
- Patented multi-ply construction with internal moisture barrier
- Very flexible and useful for tighter curved surfaces
- Helps reduce bubbling, solvent seepage and telegraphing

Why Choose FormWood NBL Veneer?
Clean exposed edges
NBL® was developed to avoid the dark edge line that can appear with phenolic-backed veneer after trimming.
Designed for flexibility
The parallel grain construction helps NBL® bend tighter on one axis than standard 2-ply products.
Built-in moisture barrier
Its acrylic glue sheet functions as a performance layer between the face and backer, supporting stability and lamination.

Installation Recommendations
Acclimate material before fabrication or installation.
Inspect all veneer for quality, grade, color and grain satisfaction before cutting, laminating or finishing.
Apply to a clean, dry, smooth substrate that is free of dust, grease, wax and other contaminants.
Maintain ideal application conditions of 70-80°F and approximately 35% relative humidity when possible.
Use the adhesive recommended for the specific backer and application.
For hand application, use a veneer scraper to apply firm, even pressure. A J-roller is not recommended.
Allow adhesive to cure for 48 hours before finishing unless your adhesive manufacturer specifies otherwise.
Store veneer in a climate-controlled environment and avoid direct sunlight.
