Maintenance Leader

Our company is a leading manufacturer of custom veneer plywood products. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service to clients in a range of industries. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Leader to conduct our maintenance team and ensure the ongoing maintenance and operation of our manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Leader will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring the upkeep and operation of all machinery, equipment, and facilities within the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will have prior experience in maintenance management and a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems. This position also works on the repair, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of the equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the maintenance team, providing leadership, training, and guidance as needed. The Maintenance Manager also actively works on and improves equipment as well.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor and evaluate equipment performance, identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure production goals are met and downtime is minimized.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

In order to be successful, the candidate must have:

  • Prior experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and ability to diagnose and repair issues. Proficient in PLC programming.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate with other departments.
  • Experience with budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards, and ability to ensure compliance.

Purchasing Agent

Job description
This person is expected to be a leader within our purchasing and supply chain team, focused on the optimal use of company resources, and will also oversee our inbound on outbound transportation needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize costs and improve quality.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Relentless identification of opportunities to reduce inventory levels.
  • Maintain standard cost structure in our system and make recommendations when standard cost adjustments are necessary.
  • Source materials (core, edge banding, veneer, packaging materials, etc.) based on requests from our Sales and Production teams.
  • Accurately and cost-effectively execute purchase orders based on material needs.
  • Accurately maintain system for quantity and expected arrival date of inbound materials.
  • Collaborate with production and freight procurement resources to ensure smooth flow of materials and products.
  • Schedule outbound freight based on information provided by our freight team.
  • Keep informed of market trends, changes in business practices, etc. Ensure the company complies with its purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Produce purchasing performance reports on a weekly basis.

In order to be successful, the candidate must be able to:

  • Must exhibit professionalism and integrity, especially when communicating with our vendors and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work successfully as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and an ardent desire to improve our processes/vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Freight experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to dependably work Monday – Friday, 7 am – 4 pm.
  • Previous purchasing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with FSC is preferred.

Formwood Industries is looking for an enthusiastic individual to immediately fill an entrylevel,
customer service position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answering incoming customer calls regarding order tracking, stock levels, quote,
    order entry, or general information questions
  • Update customer information in the customer service database after each call
  • Become fully competent with our quoting and order entry systems
  • Support the outside sales team with information and/or quotes so they can
    effectively communicate with our customers
  • Provide accurate information for the custom sheets and panels for the production
    team

In order to be successful, the candidate must be able to:

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with customers and work to make each phone conversation a positive experience
  • Must have high levels of integrity, especially when communicating with our
    customers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new systems
  • Must be able to work successfully as an individual and as part of a team
  • Work with our internal teams to continuously improve processes
  • General math skills
  • Must be able to dependable to work an eight hour shift, five days a week

FormWood Industries is looking for an enthusiastic individual to immediately fill an outside sales position based out of Jeffersonville, IN (Louisville, KY). FormWood manufactures architectural wood panels and sheets for sale throughout the United States and Canada.

Job Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate would have some outside sales experience with experience in the wood industry preferred.
  • Support the inside sales team with correct spec capture and competitive information so a quote can be provided quickly and accurately.
  • Follow up on quotes to convert to orders and understand our competitiveness by market.
  • Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with customers and work to make each phone conversation/visit a positive experience.
  • Must have high levels of integrity, both when communicating with out customers and the FormWood team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn custom order systems.
  • Must be able to work successfully as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, goal oriented and team oriented.
  • Lean/Continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • General math skills.
  • Job will require 50% travel with most of the trips in the eastern part of the U.S.
  • Job will include ride alongs with distributors in key markets.

Production Worker

Description

Position performs all tasks involved in the production of the company’s products; lamination of veneer sheets and panels. This includes working with veneer wood, core, various backers, production equipment, and packaging. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reads work orders and completes schedules and assignments as assigned by department supervisor
  • Attach appropriate, accurately filled out, work orders and tags to products and packages
  • Completes quality requirements per standard operating procedure
  • Notify supervisor of any safety, and/or mechanical, or material issues that will affect the quality of finished products
  • Place finished goods on the designated pallet or roll-cart
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities within the facility
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
